Sasha Welch grew up right outside of Washington D.C. in Vienna, Va. Coming from a creative and performing arts family, she began dancing at the age of four and once she started she never looked back. Her training consists of many diverse styles: ballet (Italian and Russian), pointe, jazz, theater dance, tap (theater and rhythm), modern (Horton and Graham), lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, cheerleading/pom, and character folk dancing.

Growing up she attended many conventions, workshops, summer programs, and competitions where she received numerous scholarships, awards, and honors. Dance Masters of America, Cecchetti Council of America, The Pulse: regional and national, Monsters of Contemporary, Rockette Summer Intensive, Point Park University Summer Dance, and Universal Dance Association to name a few. Attending such programs fine-tuned her training and inspired her to work with noteworthy teachers and fellow dancers.

After taking multiple trips to NYC, the world of Broadway completely won over her heart and has become her main focus. To further her training and to audition she was eager to get off to the big White Way. She completed two years at Fairfax Academy under the direction of Andrea Heinige and Toy Falcone. She was also a part of the prestigious contemporary dance company, Impact Dance Company, in Northern Virginia, under the direction of Candra Preshong and Kellie Payne. She was also simultaneously in many local musical theater productions.

In late 2009 Sasha moved to New York City, where she currently resides. She is on work study at Steps on Broadway and trains there daily. She can consistently be seen in the classes of Jeff Shade (theater dance), Derek Mitchell (contemporary/hiphop), Janna Hicks (contemporary), Lonne Moretton (ballet), Debbie Roshe (jazz),and Richard Pierlon (theater dance) . She has worked outside of class with Derek Mitchell, dancing in Fashions Night Out for make-up brand: NYC Color. In the fall 2010 she had the pleasure of choreographing a musical theater production number for King's College Dance Company. In spring 2011 she was performing in The Next Stage Project Choreography Workshop performing repertoire at City Center by Jana Hicks and Marijke Elisaberg. Most recently she was seen dancing a circus-like musical theater piece in the Steps on Broadway 2011 Faculty Showcase, performing choreography by Kristi A. Sutton. Since moving to NYC, Sasha has taken a strong liking to exercise, bikram yoga, health, and fitness. This spring, with continuing her dance career, she is also going to be certified to be a personal trainer at one of NYC's finest gyms.
